The Dole Pineapple Plantation, Wahiawa Hawaii.

Be a Pineapple, Stand Tall, Wear a Crown, and Be Sweet on the Inside…

And because of all of that, and my love for pineapples (in my drinks, on my bikinis, and alone) the Dole Plantation gets its own dedicated post!  My tour guide/ photographer /cousin (all in one and that’s not even his day job- his real job and talent is way cooler but he was kind enough)  recommended this place and I said YES! Let’s go, I even bought the perfect yellow gold tee shirt to cut up and wear with my high waisted denim shorts when I was at ABC Stores in Waikiki Beach the day before.

From the website:

Originally operated as a fruit stand beginning in 1950, Dole Plantation opened to the public as Hawaii’s “Pineapple Experience” in 1989. Today, Dole Plantation is one of Oahu’s most popular visitor attractions and welcomes more than one million visitors a year.

Dole Plantation provides enjoyable activities for the entire family, including the Pineapple Express Train Tour, the Plantation Garden Tour, and the Pineapple Garden Maze. Also popular are informational displays and presentations, as well as our plantation country store offering a wide variety of Dole Plantation gifts, local favorites, foods and refreshments including the world-famous DoleWhip®. And, before you leave you can purchase fresh pineapple to take home.

The shop is the ultimate destination for everything pineapple.  I saw the cutest things there.   Then as you go back outside you see the giant pineapple that people use to take pictures. Its lit.  I waited on line for that picture and yes, it was everything I could imagine and more.  The grounds were beautiful.  It really was one of my favorite tourist attractions on the island just for its beauty alone.  We toured the grounds took a bunch of cool photos, signed the Gum Tree, had the yummiest signature DoleWhip in a pineapple cup (you can add any topping you want) but I just did it…for the cup.  Bought 2, got one free and that makes 3.  Definitely go if you can fit it into your schedule!! When I come back home with my daughters we are going here and will do all of the activities, I am saving those experiences because I want to do it with them.
